Rock of Ifach and Climbing

The Peñón de Ifach is an impressive rock formation located on the Costa Blanca of Calpe. It rises from the sea as a calcareous rock 332 meters high and approximately one kilometer long, joined by a narrow isthmus near the Port of Calpe, which constitutes one of the most unique and beautiful geographical features on the entire Mediterranean coast.

    • The main trail begins at the parking lot near the rock. It is a well-marked route that takes you through a pine forest and then climbs the side of the rock.
    • The total distance of the trail is approximately 1.8 kilometers (round trip).
    • Estimated time: You can complete the climb in 1-2 hours, depending on your pace and stops to enjoy the views.
    • Difficulty: Although not extremely difficult, there are some steep sections and steps carved into the rock. Good physical condition is required.
  2. Panoramic views:
    • As you climb, you will be able to enjoy incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Costa Blanca and the city of Calpe.
